Code Review

The Code Review tab helps you understand where time is spent in the review and approval process.

ProgressCue tracks four phases of the review lifecycle:

  • First review — average time from PR creation to the first review. Includes approvals, change requests, and inline comments, but excludes conversation comments.
  • First approval — average time from PR creation to the first approval.
  • First to last approval — average time between the first and last approvals. A long gap here may indicate too many required reviewers or difficulty reaching consensus.
  • Last approval to merge — average time from the final approval to merge. A long delay here can point to manual deployment gates or merge queue bottlenecks.

The stacked bar chart on the right visualizes all four phases over time, making it easy to spot which phase is the biggest bottleneck. Use the View by dropdown to switch between daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly grouping.
